Meet Our Board

Being a national team athlete himself for a decade spanning (between 2005 and 2015), he took part in various events around Europe and medaled obtained medals at two GSSE games. He seeks to understand the basic needs of an athlete requires and bases his decisions and actions for the sakein line with the requirements of the athletes and coaches. Andy believes that Malta has what it takes to be a perfect destination for international events and training camps and has focused part of his manifesto on the bringing foreign athletes to our shores.
He is currently running the building of the Marsa High Performance Facility Project and forms part of the technical committee in preparation for GSSE 2023.

His sporting background is firmly based in football with a playing career spanning from 1980 till 2001. During his career he played with Victoria Hotspurs, Fgura United, Mosta FC, and Zurrieq FC. Personal club honours include 4 Gozo League Championships, 7 Gozo Super Cups, 1 GFA Cup, 1 Gozo Republic Cup, 1 Millenium Cup, 1 MFA 2 nd Division Championship, 1 MFA 2 nd /3 rd Ko Competition. Aldrin Cassar also served as Head Coach in 1995/96 with Hibernians FC Women, Head Coach in 2011/12 with Victoria Hotpurs FC and U/17 Coach with Mellieha FC.
Currently Mr Cassar is also serving as Vice Secretary for Malta Employees Sports Association, a position he has been holding for the past three years. He is also Athletics Malta’s new General secretary.

He has just recently founded his own private practice providing accounting, management, taxation, payroll and company secretarial services.
Darren also takes an active interest in athletics, particularly in long distance running.
He has been participating in the National Road Running League for the last four years. He ran his best half marathon in Valencia in October 2019, finishing at 1:25’34”. His only full marathon was done in December 2018 clocking 3:13’52”.
He also serves as President for Viola Club Malta, the local fan club of AC Fiorentina.

Daniel's love and passion for running goes back to his secondary school years. Daniel hasHe trained for about 7-8 years as a sprinter at local club level, eventually transitioning to long distance running with one of Malta's local running clubs. Daniel not only holds has a passion for training the sport but has also coached the sport for about 8 years with Sport Malta.
Daniel truly believes that athletics in Malta has immense potential. Irrespective of individual abilities, athletes must not only be given the right opportunities and coaching, but a safe and world class infrastructure to train and compete within. Malta's geographic size is no limitation to our abilities and should never limit us from putting the country on the world map.



Throughout these years he served as a Communications Coordinator for the Association with a responsibility to maintain and issue all results of Association competitions and its Record record keeping. Tony is currently occupying a post within Pembroke Athleta athletics and triathlon club.

Duncan’s daily energy and motivation is seeing others succeed and meeting their individual goals.
Duncan is currently the General Secretary of La Salle Athletics club.

Antonella is a qualified track and field coach. Currently, she serves as General Secretary with Rush AC.

His experience and skills include business development, restructuring, start-ups, international business, and leading high-performance teams.
Nicolai has competitively competed participated in Athletics competitively for a number of years and has represented Malta in four editions of the Games of the Small States of Europe, World and European Championships, several European Cups, as well as the Olympics in Beijing. For a number of years Nicolai was National Champion of the 400m distance and has held National and Championship records in the 400m, 4x100m, and 4x400m. Currently Nicolai is a member of the Maltese Olympians Association, and is involved in Sports boat sailing.
