Anti-doping awareness serves as a cornerstone in fostering integrity and fairness in sport. It not only upholds the principles of clean competition but also underscores the importance of safeguarding the health and well-being of athletes. Recognising this significance, Athletics Malta took proactive steps by organising its inaugural educational seminar for the year 2024, with a particular focus on Under 18 National Team athletes. This initiative aimed not only to educate young athletes about the perils of doping but also to instil in them a sense of responsibility towards upholding the purity of sport.

Led by Mr Andy Grech, a representative from the government entity AIMS – Authority For Integrity In Maltese Sport, a former Athletics Malta President and national team athlete, the seminar offering valuable insights into the ethical, legal and health-related aspects of anti-doping measures. Through interactive sessions and comprehensive discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of the detrimental effects of doping, the importance of compliance with anti-doping regulations, and the role they play as ambassadors of fair play in the sporting community.

The collaboration between Athletics Malta and AIMS underscores a collective commitment towards promoting a culture of clean, healthy sport in Malta. By empowering young athletes with knowledge and awareness, such initiatives not only equip them with the tools to make informed decisions but also cultivate a sense of accountability and integrity that extends beyond the confines of the sporting arena
