CSSE Malta 2016 — CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS (AGE 16+)
Dear Friends in Sport
European Athletics (EA) and the Athletic Associations of Small States of Europe (AASSE) have entrusted the Malta Amateur Athletic Association (MAAA) to host the inaugural Championships of the Small States of Europe (CSSE) which will take place in Malta on the 11th of June 2016. Subsequent championships will be held every 4 years.
In addition to federations from the small states (member federations of AASSE) a number of additional European federations have been invited to attend the 2016 Championships in Malta: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia& Herzegovina, Cyprus, Georgia, Gibraltar, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, FYR Macedonia, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino and Malta (Host Country).
In total 18 Federations will participate with their senior national teams to participate at these championships.
We are expecting around 300 foreign participants (athletes and team officials), as well as representatives of the international governing bodies of athletics, European Athletics and IAAF.
Having received now most of the final entries of the participating federations along with the respective flight details we are now able to estimate the requirements for volunteers to assist at the airport and at the team hotels.
MAAA is asking for assistance of interested persons to help as volunteers on the dates / times hereunder.
Kindly circulate amongst your members, friends, colleagues and beyond.
Team Liaison and Hospitality Crew at the Team Hotels
For the benefit of volunteers and foreign guests it would be of advantage if the teams in attendance are more or less consistent.
Volunteers get used to each other, and foreign guests get used to the volunteers they meet at various times of the day.
Although it is not a requirement, we are hoping to be able to organize fixed / semi fixes shift groups.

Teams of the foreign federations will be staying at the BluBay Hotel & Apartments Complex, 143 The Strand, Gzira.
Volunteers on duty at the team hotels are entitled to a meal at the hotel (joining the athletes).
Airport Crew at Malta International Airport
Volunteers assisting at the airport do not necessarily need to keep to one shift.
Floating across shifts on different days is possible according to availability.
